Manufacturing
SEO for manufacturers, built around the specification
A manufacturer's website usually has one of two problems. Either it lists products a buyer can only find if they already know the part number, or it talks about quality and partnership without ever saying what the company can actually make. Neither gets found by someone searching for a capability.
The overview
What this actually involves
The buyer you want is often an engineer writing a specification, not a procurement officer placing a repeat order. They search by material, process, tolerance and application. If your site does not contain those words in a form a crawler can read, you are not in that search, however good your factory is.
This is where most manufacturing sites lose. The information exists, in a capability brochure, a quality manual or a CAD file, but not as pages. Turning that into indexable content is usually a few weeks of work and the single largest improvement available.
The other half is proof. A specifier needs evidence you have done this before at their scale, which means case studies with real numbers, named certifications, and an honest statement of what you do not do. Being clear about where you are not a fit builds more credibility with technical buyers than claiming you can do everything.
We have worked with established businesses since 2019. More about how we work.
What you end up with
- Capability pages that match how engineers search
- Specification data indexable instead of locked in PDFs
- Application pages competitors have not bothered to write
- Evidence a specifier can evaluate against their requirement
- Enquiries from people writing the spec, not just placing orders
How we run it
How the work is sequenced
Start from capability, not catalogue
Processes, materials, tolerances, volumes and finishes, each worth a page. Buyers search these; they rarely search your product names.
Bring technical documents into the site
Specification tables, material data and quality certifications published as readable pages, with the original documents still downloadable.
Write application pages
One page per application you serve, with the requirements, constraints and an example. These rank well because almost nobody writes them properly.
Prove it with real work
Case studies with actual tolerances, volumes and lead times, published with customer permission or anonymised where commercially sensitive.
